This beautifully illustrated biography follows the life of Alexander the Great, from his birth in Macedonia through his famous military conquests, until his early death. Born a prince and educated from a young age by Aristotle, Alexander soon became one of the most successful military leaders in world history. His sweeping military campaigns led him across the east through Persia, Egypt, Afghanistan, and into India, where he spread Greek culture, language, and ideas throughout. Known for his great courage, prudence, and judgement, Alexander, at the young age of thirty-two, had successfully conquered almost all of the known world at the time. A wonderful introduction to one of the world’s greatest military leaders, this work is both detailed and informative while also beautifully illustrated in a mixed media format with gold and red ink.
