In this vibrantly illustrated retelling of an old fable, the North Wind and the Sun have a competition to see who is stronger. Attempting to cause a horseman to lose his coat, the North Wind blows as hard as possible, causing ships to sink, animals to be frightened, and more. However, all of this only causes the horseman to hold his coat even tighter. As the Sun’s gentleness and warmth take over, the insects hum, flowers open, animals relax into sleep, and people come outside. Demonstrating the strength that can be found in gentleness, as opposed to brute force, the Sun causes the horseman to remove his coat.
